How long can the enclosed products once opened, be saved and used for a second project?
Application was easy and using our kitchen exhaust was enough to clear the air without needing a respirator. My brother had resurfaced his about 8 years ago with the rustoleum epoxy type. This 3-step application with latex based products looked much more beginner-friendly.I was worried about the amount of sanding required, but once we got started it went quite well.
I bought one application and it covered all with extra left over. It was easy to sand the counters lightly, easy to apply the base, easy to apply the seal. I will say the color is a lot more gray than the picture shows. I highly recommend doing that if you have plain formica counters. I have enough coating to cover my bathroom vanity area and will still have some product left for patching.

I recommend watching the video a couple of times before you get started too, definitely helps. Be careful when using the sanding sheets (included in the whole packet) on the edges, don’t sand too hard or it will sand away the stone coating. The instructions state you can have anew counter top in less than 24 hours; not true. Instructions state to sand final coat to your desired level of smoothness which resulted in bare spots which needed to be dabbed again to cover then let dry again. The directions are very clear and the product is easy to apply. I simply covered plywood with it and it turned out amazing!
The color sets a little darker than what appears in the picture. Pleasantly surprised by how easy it was, and the how great it looks!
Some tips: use a knife to score along the tape edge before removing the painter’s tape because without scoring it, the product will peel a bit. An orbital sander took too much stone coat off but spot re-applying easily fixed that. I was looking to resurface the kitchen counters in my new rental house, without investing a lot of money.
It looked great and has held up well, but was very labor intensive and had short windows of application with the epoxy mix. This product had very good reviews, and with good reason!
I wanted a bit more texture, not glass smooth finish, so really just knocked off the rough edges. I would definitely use this product again, and am even thinking of resurfacing my bathroom vanity with the left over!
I had terrible baby blue laminate counter tops that would have cost thousands to replace with quartz or concrete (about 40 sq ft total), and it would not have increased the value of my home that much, so it wasn’t worth it. It’s time consuming only in the waiting in between drying time, but if you have a long weekend without any real cooking required, its perfect. Was kind of expecting a creamy color, but it is still beautiful. I did not sand the stone coat until it had cured for 24 hours, but did sand a small patched area much sooner. The instructions say you can sand before fully dry, but really it should recommend always sanding before dry. This kit was easier to use than an epoxy kit we’d used in the past, and the leftover material is still usable. When sanding at the end before you top coat, use the palm sander, it makes it way easier and you don’t scratch the paint/stone coat underneath plus it makes it super smooth. Awesome product, looks way better than my old countertops, and super cheap!
First we rounded the sharp edges of the laminate counter to give them a more modern look.
The final coat is really thin making the second coat difficult to figure out where you have already rolled it on but the end result is very nice. I continued doing the rest of our kitchen countertops to match!
