As always, every basement is finished by the same crews & craftsmen, and to the same quality standards. Many of these homes were originally built after the year 2000, but a few were built before 1970. Many of these pictures are high resolution images, so enjoy!
Clam Lake Lodge and Wapiti Cabin by vrbo.com
Barth built the lodge as his family’s summer home and as a private resort to entertain friends, celebrities, and business and political associates.Truly fit for a lumber baron, the lodge contains amenities not seen in many north woods vacation homes.
We purchased the lodge in 2012 and made extensive renovations to this beautiful building. The lodge has 5 bedrooms upstairs all with private bath (toilet, sink and shower). The downstairs area includes the 925 square foot bar/amusement area. There are 3 booths for informal dining, game playing or for solving puzzles. New granite and cherry butcher block countertops were installed.Between the kitchen and the lakeside windows is the dining room. Through the french doors from the dining room lies the library. The library shelves are stocked with an eclectic selection of reading materials to enjoy while you are at the lodge. Tourists come from all around for a glimpse of these majestic creatures. There are many local streams that offer great brook trout fishing.
You can ride for a week and almost never cross your tracks. How nice it was to be right on the lake with a pontoon to use. It is very clean and well kept and the owner and managers were great to work with!
I would highly recommend this cabin for a good time with friends and family. Cooking on the flat grill brought me back to my restaurant days. The owner was really great to work with and even helped us with an early check in.
There were no mosquitoes on the property, and the yard was very well kept. Bedrooms 1 and 2 have two large windows overlooking the best views on upper clam lake. The upstairs at the lodge has 7 beds that comfortably sleep 10 people. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has 2 twin beds. The nook overlooking the lake has a poker/game table and chairs. The dining table was built by a local craftsman and is 12 feet long by 4 feet wide. The fireplace was built out of locally quarried black granite nearly 100 years ago. Not to mention our bronze bull elk and 13 foot long riding musky!
To hear the bulls bugling during the fall breeding season is truly a wondrous moment. The local lakes offer great fishing for panfish, crappies, bass, walleye and musky. Besides the nearly 1, 600 miles of groomed trails are 1, 000’s of miles of forest roads to explore. The lodge was clean, spacious and had many activities for the grandkids. This cabin is a great place to stay with a large group!
The evening pontoon rides around the lake was a great benefit with this cabin, fishing and relaxing on a calm lake. Other than bringing our clothes, food, fishing poles and bait, we didn’t need a thing. The kids had a blast fishing and swimming off the pontoon boat. It’s nice to have a property owner as excited as we were to spend time there. Every year a group of friends from our high school years get together for a weekend. It had games and plenty to do for the kids and the whole family, we were also able to cook for everybody in the restaurant sized kitchen. I would recommend staying at the clam lake lodge to anyone!
